Soccer Season Begins! Yes!!

My youngest son and daughter have begun their soccer season. I have been selected as a coach for my youngest daughter's team. I don't know how she will like it but we shall see.

As coach, I gave the intro to the upcoming season. Overall objectives is to help reach the girls personal objectives, improve team unity and communication, and to teach everyone that even though our abilities are at different levels we are all good and needed. This doesn't sound very competitive I realize. However, I believe motivation can be built through relationships and by the girls working together. I somehow need to get them to work together.

I have asked the girls to speak out and tell me their feelings. During the first part of the meeting I thought I was going to bomb as the girls rarely smiled. It wasnt until the end of the practice that I started to see the emergence of their personalities. I feel this is good. Once I know what they are like I'll know more about their desires to play and what position they want to play.

My youngest son is also playing soccer. I am not his coach and he has not yet had his practice. When he does I will probably go and watch.
